If your baby has sensitive skin, you’ll know it pretty quickly. Redness appears out of nowhere, rashes seem to arrive overnight, and suddenly the humble nappy becomes the subject of intense investigation.
The good news? A few simple choices can make a big difference to keeping delicate skin comfortable.
Why Some Babies Have More Sensitive Skin
Baby skin is naturally thinner and more delicate than adult skin, which means it reacts more easily to moisture, friction and certain ingredients.
Add frequent nappy changes into the mix and it’s easy to see why the nappy area sometimes needs a little extra care.
The aim is simple: keep skin clean, dry and protected.
Look for Breathable Nappies
Breathable nappies allow air to circulate around the skin, helping moisture evaporate rather than sitting against the skin for long periods. This can reduce irritation and help prevent nappy rash.
Our choice of breathable nappies
Choose Highly Absorbent Nappies
When nappies absorb quickly, moisture is pulled away from the skin and locked inside the core of the nappy. Less moisture sitting on the skin means less chance of irritation.

Watch for Fragrance and Additives
Some nappies include fragrances or lotions. While many babies tolerate these perfectly well, others do better with simpler formulas. If your baby is prone to irritation, nappies designed specifically for sensitive skin are often a good place to start.
Fit Matters Too
A poorly fitting nappy can cause rubbing and pressure around the waist and legs. A good nappy should sit comfortably without digging in or leaving deep marks.

The Bottom Line
Sensitive skin doesn’t mean you need complicated solutions. A well-fitting, breathable, absorbent nappy usually does most of the heavy lifting.
And if it helps everyone avoid the dreaded “mystery rash investigation”, even better.
